About the journal
Written after dates, deletions, and a lot of overthinking.
I'm nineteen, and most of what ends up here comes out of actually dating — the apps, the setups, the almosts. This is where I put it down, mostly to make sense of it myself.
No face, no name here on purpose — I'd rather the words carry it. Just an honest, running record of what dating has actually been like, not a highlight reel of it.
A few things this journal is not
It's not dating advice, and it's not a list of what I'm "looking for." It's not styled or sponsored, and it won't pretend every date makes a good story — most don't. If anything it's closer to a diary that happens to be public.
What you'll actually find here
- Honest recaps of dates that went well, and ones that really didn't
- Notes on the strange rhythm of dating apps — the matching, the messaging, the disappearing
- What being single has actually taught me, past the cliches
- The red flags I'm learning to take seriously the first time
- Slow, ongoing thoughts on what I actually want, without pretending I have it figured out
